The Opportunity

Lesley University’s Humanities and Social Sciences Department is looking for a qualified instructor to teach the following course…

CLANG 1702 – American Sign Language. Remote synchronous. Mondays and Wednesdays. 5:30pm-6:45pm.

This course is an introduction to the basic skills in production and comprehension of American Sign Language (ASL). It includes the manual alphabet and numbers. Develops conversational ability, culturally appropriate behaviors and exposes students to ASL grammar.

Qualities and Capabilities

A successful candidate will have:
• A minimum of a Master’s Degree in ASL, ASL teaching and/or Deaf Studies.
• Native or near-native proficiency in ASL.
• Must demonstrate ability to work effectively with diverse students and foster an inclusive learning environment.
• Demonstrated record of quality teaching ASL at the college level;
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; if you hold a visa, your visa status must allow you to work at Lesley University.
