Spring 2025 – Adjunct Faculty positions in French
The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures at Whittier College invites applications for multiple adjunct professors in French to teach up to two courses each in Spring 2025. The courses in need of instructors are Elementary French II, Intermediate French II, Introduction to French Literature I (Middle Ages to 18th-century, taught in… French), and a seminar course taught in English on a topic in French literature and/or culture (exact topic open to discussion with instructor). Excellent teaching skills are expected. The position is for in-person instruction with classes beginning January 21, 2025. The salary is $2,100 per credit.
Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or ABD in French (or related field); M.A. considered; native or near-native fluency in French and English; evidence of successful teaching; excellent communication skills. A specialization in any of the periods prior to nineteenth century literature is preferred for the instructor of Introduction to French Literature I.
