Position Summary
We are seeking dedicated adjunct instructors for our Communication courses. If you have a robust background in public speaking and communications, coupled with teaching experience at the community college level, we invite you to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in instructing both in-person and online formats. This position is part of a pool for… future teaching assignments.
Responsibilities
Conduct classes and learning exercises as scheduled, ensuring full engagement throughout each session.
Provide students and the academic department with a detailed Course Outline derived from the official syllabus at the start of the course. This outline should include contact information, topics covered, and assessment methods as per departmental guidelines.
Maintain accurate records of attendance and grading, submitting them as required.
Adhere to all institutional and departmental policies, procedures, and deadlines.
Regularly check and respond to departmental and administrative communications via email.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Strong commitment to active learning and innovative teaching methods.
Proficiency in computer and design programs.
Passion for teaching, mentoring, and working with community college students.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and technology skills.
Commitment to the goals of community college education, providing quality programs and services for a diverse student body, including those from various cultural, socio-economic, and academic backgrounds, as well as students with disabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Active professional engagement in the relevant field of study.
Proven success in teaching at the college or university level.
Familiarity with the BrightSpace Learning Management System.
Ability to engage students through dynamic and captivating teaching methods, incorporating applied arts into the curriculum.
Compensation
$1049.00 per credit hour.
