The Department of Psychology& Counseling is a community of psychological scientists, practitioners, and educators who are dedicated to our students’ academic and career success. Our Department has an undergraduate program in Psychology, a master’s program in Counseling (accredited by the Masters in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council [MPCAC]), and a doctoral program in Clinical Psychology (accredited by the American Psychological Association [APA]). Job Description: The Department of Psychology& Counseling seeks a colleague who demonstrates potential for excellence in research, who will contribute to our three academic programs, and who shows dedication to graduate and undergraduate teaching and mentoring. The candidates selected for these positions will join a collaborative group of faculty and staff. This position is for Psychology (Open emphasis area): Area of research specialization is open, but a strong preference will be given to candidates with applied research interests in Cognitive or Clinical Psychology. We seek candidates with interests in teaching undergraduate and graduate Cognitive Psychology, undergraduate and graduate Statistics, and undergraduate Biopsychology. Candidates must have a doctorate in Psychology or a closely related social science discipline. Responsibilities: Maintain an active research program that contributes to the Department’s commitment to encourage and respect diverse perspectives, foster social equity, and lead change through innovative research. Maintain a record of peer-reviewed publications. Seek and secure external funding as needed for sustained research productivity. Mentor students, including as research supervisors for students within our Clinical Psychology PhD program. Provide service commensurate with the Assistant Professor rank. We also expect our colleagues to contribute across our three academic programs, as well as teach classes in different modalities, such as in-person, blended, online synchronous, and online asynchronous. Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have a doctoral degree (awarded by 9-1-25). Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates with prior university teaching experience and a record of scholarship commensurate with the Assistant Professor rank. Full Time/Part Time: Full time [100% FTE], benefit-eligible, 9-month ranked academic appointments to begin Fall Semester 2025. Summer teaching is available.
