Sciences seeks to create an available pool of local
(Chicagoland area) Adjunct Faculty candidates to teach
undergraduate courses in Philosophy .

Essential Responsibilities

We are particularly interested in adjunct faculty to teach courses
in the following areas: Ethics in Healthcare (online), Logic &
Practical Reasoning (on-campus), and Philosophy of Religion (any
modality).

Interested individuals are invited to complete a faculty profile,
attach a curriculum vita, cover letter, transcripts and list of
references for consideration. If available, please also include a
sample syllabus.

At Governors State University, adjunct faculty are hired as
temporary faculty with teaching responsibilities for a specific
course in a semester or summer session. Adjuncts are not a part of
the faculty bargaining unit and are not included in membership of
the Faculty Senate.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
• A Master’s degree in Philosophy or a closely related
discipline.
• Experience teaching undergraduate classes at an accredited
college or university.

Preferred Qualifications
• A doctoral degree in Philosophy or a closely related
discipline.
• Experience teaching online at an accredited college or
university.
• Experience teaching formal or informal logic at an accredited
college or university.
