San Diego Audubon, a dynamic and growing non-profit organization working to defend our region’s birds, unique biodiversity, and threatened habitats through advocacy, education, and restoration, seeks a highly motivated individual with program management-level experience in the outdoor education field to serve as the organization’s Director of Education. If you have a passion for connecting youth… families, and the general public to nature, the experience and skills necessary to successfully manage and develop innovative and outstanding outdoor education programs, and have experience securing funds to support educational programs, we want to hear from you.
The Director of Education will play a vital role in setting the vision and tone for our education programming, grow the reach and impact of the services we provide, and help inspire new leaders to act to protect the environment. You will fill a critical leadership role by disseminating important and current scientific information, spark curiosity and love for birds and nature, and empower youth, families, the general public and our team of dedicated staff and volunteers. At times, the Director of Education will need to act as an ambassador for SDAS to forge new partnerships and share the successes of our programs. The Director of Education will report directly to the Executive Director and work closely with the entire staff and Board of Directors.
Salary, Benefits & Terms
This is a full time (40hr/wk), salaried exempt position with a wage range of $68,000 to $75,000 per year, commensurate upon experience.
