MLC is accepting resumes and applications for ESL instructors who are interested in limited, part-time teaching as well as those who would like to grow with MLC. We are looking for qualified, dynamic, creative, and enthusiastic ESL instructors to work with our adult students at varying English levels from over 50 different countries. We offer both in-person and online classes. Preference is given to applicants living within an hour of Ann Arbor.
Responsibilities include:
• Prepare for and teach scheduled classes and/or private tutorials.
• Meet with a Director to consult on classes, students, and administrative duties throughout the session.
• Maintain attendance and grade records in each class and submit them at the end of each session.
• Attend a pre-session teache30rs’ meeting (required) and check-in meetings (optional) during the session.
• Create, administer, and grade assessments according to MLC Assessment Guidelines.
About You:
• Bachelor’s degree and ESL certification or enrollment in a graduate degree program in TESOL, linguistics, or related field
• MA degree in TESOL or related field is a plus
• ESL classroom experience
• Ability to work with people in various roles (instructors, students, administrators)
• Proficient in technology and knowledge of a variety of educational tools when teaching online
• Experience teaching Business English or doing Executive Coaching is a plus
• A “no task is too small” attitude!
COMPENSATION: Compensation is competitive and based on experience and qualifications, with an hourly pay range of $26-$30 per hour.
