Fully Remote DHH Teaching Position

Responsibilities:

– Deliver virtual instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, utilizing American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities as needed…

– Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with the student’s team, including parents, special education staff, and other professionals.

– Adapt instructional materials and activities to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.

– Provide ongoing assessment of student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.

– Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

– Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and behavior.

– Communicate regularly with students, parents, and other stakeholders to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.

Requirements:

– Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

– Valid teaching certification/license in Deaf Education or Special Education (if applicable).

– Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of other communication modalities used by individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.

– Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a virtual setting.

– Strong understanding of best practices in deaf education and familiarity with assistive technology and resources.

– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote/virtual environment.
