Duties

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Define goals and objectives for units and daily lesson plans.
• Identify specific intended learning outcomes, which are challenging, meaningful and measurable, with efficient record keeping.
• Plan and prepare a variety of learning activities
• Select, develop, modify and/or adapt materials and resources, which support learning objectives and address students’ varying learning styles, backgrounds and special needs.
• Establish and maintain a positive and safe learning environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process taking place on a daily basis.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and organized learning environment.
• Assist in the enforcement of school rules.
• Foster student responsibility, appropriate social behavior, integrity, valuing of cultural diversity, and respect for self and others by role modeling and learning
• Provide accurate and timely information to parents and students about academic and behavioral performance in class.
• Help with Lunch, recess and carpool as needed.
• Act in a professional and ethical manner and adhere to professional standards at all times.
• Demonstrate attention to punctuality, attendance, records and maintain confidentiality of student and other professionals in the building.
• Support school improvement initiatives by active participation in school activities, services and events.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Early Childhood Education from an accredited educational institution
• Certified by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission to teach P-5th
• At least one year experience teaching Pre-K or Kindergarten
• Knowledge of OWL curriculum preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Knowledge of child development and especially of characteristics of Pre-K age students
• Knowledge of current educational trends and best practices.
• Knowledge of learning styles and skill in using varied teaching methods to address student learning abilities.
• Skill in oral and written communication with students, parents and can effectively communicate your processes, procedures, and expectations.
• Ability to plan and implement activities for maximum effectiveness in the classroom.
• Ability to assess levels of student achievement effectively, analyze test results and prescribe actions for remediation, acceleration, and mastery of standards.
• Ability to maintain appropriate student supervision so that students have a safe and orderly environment in which to learn.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light Work: Up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects. UP to 50 pounds if needed to help a child physically.
Salary:
Bachelor’s Degree: starting at $36,815.60
T-4 Certification: starting at $45,320.73
T-5 or higher Certification: starting at $49,843.04
