Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 17,000 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. The District has one early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9th – 12th grade campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City.

Responsibilities:
The purpose of the Bilingual teacher is to provide instruction to students in reading, math, science and other featured academic areas to best facilitate academic growth during the 6-week summer school session. This includes attending all profesional development and training intended for teachers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Promote a safe and positive enviornment by observicng and managing behavior of students, and facilitating a positive and supportive learning environment. Assist faculty with immediate safety problems
• To be present with students during all inhstructional and supervisory times.
• To plan for language Art, Math, Science and other featured academis areas.
• Bilingual Teachers will participate ina team teaching model with teachers of mainstream English speaking students.
• To provide for English as a Second Language scaffolding and Native Language Support to students including differentiation and modification of materials.
• To participate with staff in promoting the enrichment component that is designed for studetns during the Summer School session.
Other Duties and Responsibilities: Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required: Professional Educator License with Bilingual or ESL endorsement.
Safety: The employee is responsible for taking any and all steps necessary to protect yourself and others against occupational accidents, injuries, and illnesses.
Compensation: Based on ccurrent hourly wages for teachers.
