In this role, you will interact with students through various channels, including phone, email, live chat, and text. You’ll provide academic support, hold regular virtual office hours, schedule student appointments, and conduct engaging webinars. Collaboration with fellow team members and participation in projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing overall learning outcomes will also be key aspects of the job.
This is a year-round, fully remote position, and we will provide all the necessary equipment for you to perform your duties effectively.
Essential Job Functions
Offer academic support to students through phone, email, live chat, text, office hours, and appointments.
Create and deliver webinars to engage and educate students.
Provide detailed feedback on subjective exams.
Handle administrative tasks, including composing letters, monitoring spreadsheets, and sharing documents with the team.
Analyze program and course-level data to identify student needs and drive outreach efforts.
Review and suggest improvements for lessons, courses, or programs to ensure adherence to established standards and practices.
Perform additional duties as required based on the role and its level.
Required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology/Science.
State-issued teaching certification.
At least 2 years of experience in teaching and/or tutoring.
Reliable high-speed internet access.
Strong computer skills and willingness to learn new systems.
Excellent time management skills.
Experience with online learning and instructional design.
Comprehensive understanding of how technology can enhance instructional methods.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
Empathy for students learning at a distance and managing multiple priorities.
Motivation to inspire students and colleagues toward academic success.
Preferred
Experience working with at-risk students.
Ability to think on your feet and communicate effectively.
Enjoyment of teamwork and collaboration.
Previous experience in a fast-paced work environment or customer service.
Experience with private, for-profit high schools and/or postsecondary education.
Background as an online instructor and/or education services manager.
