Job Description:

The Spanish Teacher is focused on designing high-quality unit plans to instruct and assess student learning in Spanish class. The Spanish Teacher plays a central role in the success of Contra Costa Christian Schools in Spanish instruction for three high school classes (Spanish I, II and III) and possibly one semester section of 8th grade students plus one study hall. The Spanish Teacher’s responsibilities include the following:

High-Quality Instruction
• Design and implement high-quality units of instruction aligned with school goals and outcomes
• Establish and maintain a respectful culture of learning in a well-managed classroom
• Engage and assess student learning through the delivery of daily lessons

Professional Excellence
• Reflect on personal teaching practice in order to develop and grow professionally
• Maintain accurate, timely records of instructional and non-instructional events
• Maintain professional relationship with colleagues and work together for improved instruction and student success

Community Driven
• Collaborate with colleagues to implement and support school activities (e.g. Spirit Week, Homecoming)
• Build and maintain community relationships with students and families

Mission-Alignment
• Commitment to and support of CCCS mission, vision and values
• Commitment to and support of the Bible department purpose

Qualifications:
• Strong content knowledge
• Strong teaching skills in the classroom
• Strong organizational skills; extremely careful attention to detail and follow-through.
• Strong communication and negotiating skills.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Exceptional ability to bridge and enhance cooperative working relationships.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; flexible, able to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed.
• A Christ-centered, biblically rooted, warm-hearted faith in Christ which expresses itself in a loving, joyful, healthy relationship with others and personal freedom in sharing his/her personal experience of Christ.

Required experience:
• State or ACSI Certification is preferred
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field
• Personal testimony of Christian faith
• Teaching experience

Live Scan and TB clearances are required.

Salary begins at $50,000 depending on experience and training.
