We are looking for an experienced Java and AP Computer Science Tutor to provide instruction and support to students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java programming, a deep understanding of the AP Computer Science curriculum, and the ability to guide students through their coursework and exam preparation.
Key Responsibilities…
Conduct individual tutoring sessions in Java programming and the AP Computer Science curriculum.
deliver lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to the AP Computer Science course.
Assist students with understanding Java programming concepts, solving coding problems, and preparing for the AP Computer Science exam.
Provide feedback and assessments to help students improve their coding skills and exam performance.
Stay updated with changes to the AP Computer Science curriculum and Java programming trends.
Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs and learning styles.
Collaborate with other tutors and staff to enhance the learning experience.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong proficiency in Java programming and familiarity with the AP Computer Science A curriculum.
Previous teaching or tutoring experience, especially with AP Computer Science or similar courses, preferred.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, adaptability, and a commitment to student success.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with online teaching platforms and educational tools.
Knowledge of the AP Computer Science exam format and scoring.
Ability to create educational resources such as coding exercises, practice exams, and study guides.
Relevant certifications or training in Java programming or AP Computer Science.
