Role Fit:
As a Lead Teacher, you will play a key role in the daycare’s mission to provide exceptional care and education. Your ability to create a welcoming and inclusive classroom will be crucial to the success of our educational programs.
Responsibilities:
• Lead a classroom of young learners, supporting their social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that encourage exploration, creativity, and a love of learning.
• Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, safety protocols, and educational standards.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to maintain a high standard of care and learning.
• Mentor and guide assistant teachers, providing support and feedback.
• Build positive relationships with parents and guardians, addressing their questions, concerns, and feedback.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the daycare’s strategic planning and decision-making.
Qualifications:
• Meet DCFS 407 qualifications, including a high school diploma or equivalency certificate and relevant college credits in child care and/or child development courses.
• Background check required.
• Minimum of two years of experience as a lead teacher in an early childhood education setting preferred.
• Strong understanding of child development and evidence-based teaching practices.
• Exceptional classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to mentor and guide assistant teachers.
• Knowledge of licensing requirements and regulations for daycare centers.
