Candidates should have… at least a master’s degree in Political Science or a related field and should have the ability to teach survey courses in both US and Texas government and politics. Responsibilities will include teaching five 3-credit hour undergraduate courses per semester, most likely a combination of US Government and Texas Government. The successful candidate may be asked to teach sections in both face-to-face and online formats. The successful candidate may be asked to teach a section or two at a dual-enrollment campus in the area. Job Responsibilities Teach 10 undergraduate courses per year (5 per semester), typically in US Government and Texas Government; Participate in Departmental and University student recruitment and retention; Participate in some committee work, both inside and outside the Department, as needed; Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree from an accredited institution or university in Political Science or a closely related discipline, and demonstrable expertise within the field(s). Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated experience reflecting passion for teaching, particularly students at the undergraduate level.
