We are seeking a passionate and motivated Mandarin Teacher to work one-on-one with an elementary student, focusing on language and culture. This is an in-person position located in Atherton, CA, with the potential for remote work in the future. Candidates must reside in Northern California.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with the team to develop effective teaching strategies
Create engaging, student-led curriculum
Foster a positive and engaging learning environment
Develop lesson plans and instructional materials tailored to the student’s needs
Integrate hands-on, project-based learning activities to bring topics to life
Employ a variety of educational techniques
Utilize informal and formal assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
Provide weekly updates on student progress
Conduct periodic assessments to track student development
Support the student in building social and emotional competencies, self-esteem, and confidence
Collaborate with other educators and team members
Skills
Strong knowledge of Mandarin language and culture
Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students
Familiarity with best practices and educational technology tools
Patience and understanding when working with students facing challenges
Strong organizational skills
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of 4 years of experience as a classroom teacher or private Mandarin tutor
Teaching Credential (preferred But Not Required)
Must be based in the Atherton, CA area
