As an Online Adjunct Faculty member, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction across the designated curriculum. Candidates are expected to adhere to a high standard of conduct and maintain alignment with the institution’s values and mission.
Duties And Responsibilities
Represent the institution’s mission, vision, and core values through statements, teaching, and conduct.
Respect and uphold the institution’s history, heritage, and values.
Prepare and teach courses effectively.
Grade and return exams and assignments promptly.
Stay current with advancements in your teaching field, textbooks, and instructional resources.
Complete online orientation, send announcements, and respond to student inquiries in a timely manner.
Manage records and student information efficiently and securely.
Submit grades through the campus software system by specified deadlines.
Use the official campus email system to communicate, adhering to federal guidelines for student privacy (FERPA).
Follow all institutional and instructional policies and procedures.
Sign and return all contracts and relevant documents by the required deadlines.
Submit syllabi, semester schedules, final grades, professional development plans, performance evaluations, and other required documents on time.
Track relevant student data for Student Learning Improvement Assessment as required by departmental plans.
Participate in departmental Academic Program Review (APR) and accreditation efforts as needed.
Report student issues that may lead to disciplinary action to the academic chair or office.
Report incidents of academic dishonesty to the Vice President for Academic Administration.
Attend biannual Online Instructor Training sessions remotely.
Represent the department to prospective students and other external constituents as necessary.
DEPARTMENTAL RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the Vice President for Academic Administration and is ultimately accountable to the university President.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Proficiency in word processing, email programs, spreadsheets, and databases.
Ability to learn and use the institution’s Electronic Records Program (ERP) and Learning Management System (LMS), especially the Faculty Portal.
No heavy lifting or unusual physical requirements.
Education, Experience, And Training
A PhD or other academic-level doctoral degree in the relevant content area is preferred.
A master’s degree in the relevant content area is required.
Vocational Experience Is Preferred.
Committed to the institution’s mission and values.
1-3 years of prior teaching experience in higher education.
Demonstrated mastery of the subject(s) to be taught.
Desire to instill values through teaching and personal example.
