Bellevue Parks & Community Services is seeking an experienced and dependable Cheerleading Instructor to teach specialized movement classes at the South Bellevue Community Center (SBCC). SBCC instructors need… to be mature, knowledgeable, skilled, motivated, and dynamic individuals that enjoy teaching to primarily new and inexperienced youth cheerleaders. Supervision Received and Exercised:
Work hours may vary from season-to-season dependent on program enrollment (may include afternoons, evenings, Saturdays).

Experience teaching or participating in cheer and dance preferred.
Assist in developing program curriculum, lesson plans, and determine teaching standards.
Ensure policies and procedures are followed; Monitor safety practices: remedy or report unsafe practices or conditions immediately.
Provide safe and quality experiences to participants in all movement programs.
Ensure proper use, care, and storage of any program equipment.
Respond to community and participant inquiries and concerns; provide information about parks, recreation and community services programs, activities, and services.

Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, the community and program participants.
Ability to work various schedules including mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.
Education, Experience, and Other Requirements
Must have adequate instruction experience as documented in resume.
One year of experience teaching or leading groups preferred.
High school diploma or GED required; college-level course work preferred.
Or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
First Aid, CPR or similar certification or training may be required for some positions.

The noise level is relative to the work environment and may be quiet while in the office or moderately loud in a gym.
