About Us: We are a small, dedicated occupational therapy practice committed to supporting children’s developmental needs, both in therapy and academically. We are looking for an experienced tutor to join our team, focusing on helping ELEMENTARY-AGE children improve their handwriting, composition, and study/organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
• Provide individualized tutoring sessions focused on handwriting, composition, and study/organizational skills.
• Conduct sessions in person at the student’s home and virtually, depending on the family’s needs.
• Collaborate with our occupational therapists to align tutoring strategies with the student’s treatment plan and ensure effective carryover of therapeutic goals.
• Tailor teaching methods to meet the needs of each student, SPECIFICALLY those with a diagnosis of ADHD.
• Maintain consistent communication with parents, providing feedback on student progress and areas for further development.
Qualifications:
• Experience teaching/tutoring elementary-age children, particularly in handwriting, composition, and study skills.
• Proven experience working with students diagnosed with ADHD.
• Strong understanding of effective strategies for improving focus, organization, and academic performance in children.
• Ability to work collaboratively with occupational therapists and other professionals to support the child’s overall development.
• Flexibility to conduct sessions both in-person and virtually.
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for helping children reach their full potential.
Location: NYC
Schedule:
• Sessions occur after school, Monday to Friday.
Pay: $60/hour
