Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
Valid teaching certificate in Texas, with necessary endorsements for assigned subjects/levels
ESL Certification required within six months of employment
Special Knowledge/Skills
Proficiency in assigned subjects
Familiarity with curriculum and instructional practices
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience
Minimum one year of student teaching or approved internship
Major Responsibilities And Duties
Implement effective strategies and activities to enhance student performance in the subject area and on standardized assessments.
Develop and execute curriculum plans tailored to meet student needs.
Personalize lessons to accommodate individual student differences.
Adhere to established guidelines for subject presentation.
Utilize appropriate instructional strategies and materials to support diverse student needs.
Foster a culture of high achievement and recognize student excellence.
Collaborate with special education teachers to adapt curriculum for students with diverse learning needs.
Attend meetings and effectively communicate student progress.
Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.
Collaborate with colleagues to achieve instructional goals.
Supervise instructional assistants and volunteers.
Integrate technology into the teaching/learning process.
Assist students in improving study habits.
Assess student achievement and provide progress reports as needed.
Participate in extracurricular activities as assigned.
Serve as a positive role model for students.
Foster a conducive classroom environment for learning.
Manage student behavior according to established policies.
Ensure the safety of students and facilities.
Assist in the selection of instructional materials.
