Stellar Virtual does not currently provide all employees or contractors with the necessary equipment (i.e., computers, internet service, telephone, home office setup, etc.) required for employment. Depending on your position, you may be assigned a company-issued device to use throughout your tenure of employment.
Position Overview
As a Virtual PE Teacher, you will play a critical role in encouraging students to stay active and healthy, even from home. You will develop creative and accessible fitness activities, monitor student progress, and provide personalized feedback to help students achieve their physical education goals. Your ability to connect with students in a virtual setting, combined with your expertise in physical education, will ensure that all students have the opportunity to thrive. You will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging, standards-based physical education lessons to students across Indiana.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards for physical education and promote physical fitness, health, and wellness.
• Utilize online platforms and tools to deliver interactive and engaging PE lessons that cater to a diverse range of learning styles and abilities.
• Foster a positive and motivating learning environment that encourages active participation and promotes the physical and mental well-being of all students.
• Design and lead virtual fitness activities, challenges, and assessments that can be completed at home with minimal equipment.
• Monitor and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and participation, adhering to school policies and reporting requirements.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and guardians to provide updates on student progress, address concerns, and offer support.
• Collaborate with other educators, administrators, and support staff to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to student learning.
• Stay current with best practices in virtual education and physical education, participating in professional development opportunities and implementing new strategies as appropriate.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of the virtual PE curriculum.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
• Prior experience teaching Physical Education, preferably in a virtual or hybrid environment.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective virtual PE programs that engage and motivate students.
• Proficiency with online learning management systems (LMS), video conferencing tools, and other digital instructional tools.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule while meeting deadlines and maintaining a consistent presence for students.
Education & Certification Requirements
• A bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field is required.
• Valid Indiana teaching license with a Physical Education endorsement.
• Additional certification in online teaching or experience with virtual instruction is preferred.
