Responsibilities & Essential Functions

Cultivate a positive and supportive learning environment.

Build strong relationships with students and their families, fostering open communication.

Deliver expert music instruction to both individuals and groups, demonstrating piano techniques during lessons and playing alongside students.

Manage studio and group classes, including recruitment, lesson planning, scheduling, registration, maintaining Outlook calendars, handling phone calls, and ensuring effective communication.

Participate actively in the keyboard department, attending department meetings as required.

Contribute to the broader mission and activities of the organization,

Adhere to established COVID-19 policies.

Qualifications

Education: Degree or certification in music or music education, or equivalent qualifications.

Experience: Minimum of three years teaching piano in a studio setting, with significant experience teaching very young beginners. Experience in small group teaching is preferred, along with proficiency in diverse music styles.

Skills & Abilities: Strong communication skills, cultural competency, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive learning and working environment.

Physical Demands

Regularly (approximately 2/3 of the day): Sitting, repetitive wrist motion, grasping/pinching, bending at knees, and neck twisting.

Occasionally (approximately 1/3 of the workday): Lifting (up to approximately 10 lbs), standing, keyboarding, writing, bending at waist, twisting at the waist, and turning/pivoting.
