Position Information
Under the general direction of the Project Principal Investigator and Project Director, this position is a key component of the Reading Enhancements for Enhancements for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD): A reading comprehension intervention research grant, providing direct tutoring services to students in grades 4-8 in the area of reading. Please Note: This is a… limited position at 75% time with an anticipated end date of June 30, 2024, with the possibility of continuation contingent upon funding. The full salary range for the Reading Tutor is $26.00 – $31.04 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $29.61 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.” Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California Vaccination Program Policy.

Degree
Graduation from high school or a General Education Diploma and one year of laboratory experience or two years of college education including courses in psychology or education or other field providing knowledge of children’s development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

Minimum Requirements
• Experience in classroom teaching, working with students, or equivalent.
• Ability to instruct young children and manage behavior in accordance with public school policy.
• Ability to maintain cooperative relationships with the faculty, administrative staff, students, parents, teachers and school staff.
• Demonstrated experience in organizing and documentation of student records.
• Strong creativity levels in the following areas: presenting materials, maintaining student’s attention, initiating meaningful discussions about reading materials presented, and responding to problem behavior (i.e., verbal protesting).
• Attention to detail with material development, and data collection.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint or similar applications.
