The Senior Demand Planner is responsible for developing, executing and communicating strategic financial and merchandise plans for Kathy Kuo Home’s Ecommerce, Design Services and Retail divisions, and driving business to meet the financial, merchandising and marketing objectives.
Responsibilities
• Create strategic financial plans that support the company’s objectives and brand goals
• Responsible for monthly forecasts with focus on sales demand, shipments and gross margin
• At a Department & Vendor level, develop sales, gross margin, and inventory plans that support the company’s profit objectives. Collaborate with buying to ensure that financial objectives align with product opportunities.
• Manage sales and financial targets for promotional calendar, in partnership with buying and marketing teams
• Analyze and make recommendations regarding sku productivity and and site activations by division
• Management Reporting for Key Account Meetings i.e Bookings vs. Budget, Placement Recaps by customer/AE etc.
• Build assortment and sourcing strategies to gain market share and drive revenue for the business
• Identify opportunities for continued growth in the home decor e-commerce space
• Partner with key internal partners, ie; Marketing, Operations, Customer Service and Digital Merchandising to establish long-term, viable business growth opportunities
• Identify marketplace trends and source new product / vendors to ensure continued freshness in product offerings
• Prepare and present concise, persuasive and data driven cases for vendors, peers, and executive leaders
• Build and foster relationships with strategic vendor portfolio
• Negotiate with vendors in the interest of business goals and strategies
• Track competitive efforts and provide strategic assessments of opportunities
• Present innovative ideas in merchandise presentation that are elevated and customer centric
Qualifications
• 5+ years in merchandise planning experience, ideally in retail space
• Demonstrated experience presenting and recommending strategies and building a business case
• Strategic forecasting for a multidimensional business
• Assuming additional areas of accountability successfully
• Influencing and negotiating at a variety of levels
• Education: 4-year degree; advanced degree a plus
Skills
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills including presenting complex material in an organized and compelling manner
• Well-versed in planning and allocation systems, as well as advanced Microsoft windows applications.
