Description

The Communication and Humanities department is seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our faculty as a Spanish Adjunct Instructor at our community college. Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate courses in Spanish, providing students with a solid foundation of principles, theories, and concepts. This position offers an excellent opportunity to share your knowledge and passion for Spanish with students from diverse backgrounds.

Examples of Duties

The candidate can expect to teach a broad range of Spanish courses determined by the evolving needs of the department. Experience teaching diverse students at various levels of college-preparedness and non-traditional students is highly desirable.
Typical Qualifications
• MA in Spanish or MA in a Foreign Language with fluency in Spanish. 1-2 years teaching Spanish at the college level.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Commitment to teaching a student body diverse in ability, age, ethnicity, race, and sexual orientation.
• Must successfully pass a criminal background check.

Supplemental Information

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Three to four years teaching Spanish courses at a community college.
• Experience with academic outcomes assessment, data collection, and analysis.
• Experience with our (LMS) learning management system (D2L) desire to learn.
STATUS/SALARY:
This is a part-time adjunct position with salary to be determined by placement on the adjunct faculty salary schedule commensurate with education and experience.
