Caseload:
• Elementary school students (Kindergarten and 1st grade)
• 10 students in a self-contained Emotional-Sensory-Communication (ESC) classroom, a specialized program supporting students with autism
• The students have cognitive abilities for academics but require additional support for staying on task, developing social-emotional skills, and other needs
• The classroom includes 1 paraprofessional, with additional support from behavior consultants, occupational therapists, and other specialists who provide services during the week
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide academic instruction and behavioral support in a self-contained classroom setting for students with autism
• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) focused on emotional, sensory, and communication needs
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, behavior consultants, OTs, and other support staff to provide comprehensive services
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment to support social-emotional growth and academic success
• Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress
Qualifications:
• Active Indiana Special Education Teacher License
• Experience working with students with autism and supporting emotional-sensory-communication needs
• Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
• Patience, flexibility, and a passion for working with diverse learners
