Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for children. This position is in a school that specializes in teaching students with special needs in the way they learn, including small class sizes and curriculum that meets the needs of students at every level. We “begin with the end in mind”, preparing students for rich and meaningful lives in their communities.
Duties
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to the needs of individual learners.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes child welfare.
• Utilize behavior management techniques to guide children’s social interactions and emotional growth.
• Monitor and assess children’s progress in various developmental areas, including keeping data in several areas of cognitive, social, and physical skills.
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children’s progress and address any concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom space that encourages exploration and learning.
• Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of childhood development.
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide a comfortable and supportive atmosphere for students who have often been uncomfortable in their learning environment.
• Be willing to learn to use communication devices with learners who are low or nonverbal.
• See your passion for teaching and love for children be embraced in a learning environment that is truly for the best of each student.
Requirements
• Proven experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting.
• Knowledge of special education methods and strategies is preferred but not required. We will teach you.
• Understanding of childhood development principles and best practices in special education.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to manage classroom behavior positively while promoting a respectful atmosphere.
• An attitude that sees the best in each child and is flexible when working with children.

Pay: $22,000.00 – $30,000.00 per year
