We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Teacher Associate to join our team. As a Teacher Associate, you will work collaboratively with our teaching team to coordinate curriculum and manage daily classroom activities. Your role will be crucial in creating a safe and stimulating environment that supports children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. Effective communication with children, colleagues, and families is key to meeting the needs of the children and supporting their growth.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement educational curriculum with engaging classroom activities based on Developmentally Appropriate Practices and Vermont Early Learning Standards.
Plan and facilitate activities that foster cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
Maintain open communication with families through various channels.
Adhere to center policies and state regulations.
Create and sustain a healthy classroom environment following state regulations and ITERS/ECERS standards.
Keep accurate records of observations, curriculum, and assessments.
Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance quality and effectiveness.
Qualifications
Meet Vermont State Regulations for a Teacher Associate.
At least 20 years old.
High school diploma or GED.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, children, and parents.
Comprehensive understanding of child development.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Certification.
Mandated Reporter Training.
Background check and fingerprinting clearance.
Vermont Orientation Training.
Education And Experience Requirements
Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Three (3) Certificate; or
Associate degree in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education, or Child and Family Services with at least 12 months of experience working with young children; or
Certificate of Completion from the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program; or
Child Care Certificate from the Community College of Vermont with at least 12 months of experience working with young children; or
Completion of 21 college credits in early childhood or school-age focus with at least 12 months of experience working with young children.
