– Conduct online tutoring sessions using Upswing’s virtual classroom
– Foster independence and critical thinking skills in students through the Socratic method
– Utilize video, audio, chatbox, and whiteboard features during sessions
– Adhere to tutoring schedule and availability requirements
– Provide high-quality tutoring in the subject area of expertise
What is Required (Qualifications):
– Subject matter expertise or advanced knowledge in the relevant subject area
– Reliable high-speed internet and a quiet, distraction-free environment for tutoring
– Excellent academic performance in undergraduate or graduate school
– Strong desire to help others and assist students in reaching their goals
– Minimum availability of 2-5 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters
– Responsive and effective communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
– Background in teaching methodology, instruction, or college-level tutoring experience
– Experience in a math or learning lab or writing center
– Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
