STUDENT MATH & SCIENCE TUTORS
BIOLOGY and MATH & PHYSICAL SCIENCE
POSITION SUMMARY:
Rogers State University is accepting applications for Math & Science Tutors.
PRIMARY DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Tutor students in Math, Biological sciences, Anatomy, Genetics, Chemistry, Geology, Physics, etc.
Provide support for course content.
Explain concepts, work sample problems, clarify terms.
Help students develop basic study and time management skills.
Encourage and motivate students to seek help frequently throughout the semester.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Strong communication skills.
Ability to personalize tutoring session to students needs.
Comfortable working with students who might be struggling and frustrated.
Friendly, approachable, and patient demeanor.
Good time management skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must be a full-time student at RSU.
Minimum of 3.0 GPA
Must have received a grade of A to be eligible to tutor corresponding course.
Letter of Recommendation from Math or Science faculty member.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to tutor multiple subjects.
Biology or Math & Physical Science major.
REPORTS TO: Administrative Assistant, Biology Department
HOURS: As scheduled Monday Thursday, 9:00am 5:00pm.
