Key Responsibilities:
• Individualized Instruction: Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, ensuring that all educational goals are met in a virtual environment.
• Lesson Planning & Delivery: Design and deliver engaging, standards-based lessons that accommodate various learning styles and meet the needs of students with disabilities.
• Progress Monitoring: Regularly assess student progress using both formal and informal methods, adjusting instruction as necessary to ensure continuous growth.
• Collaboration: Work closely with parents, general education teachers, support staff, and other stakeholders to create a cohesive learning experience that meets the needs of each student.
• Virtual Classroom Management: Create and maintain a structured and supportive virtual classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
• Technology Integration: Utilize various online platforms and digital tools to facilitate instruction, track student progress, and communicate with students and families.
• Compliance: Ensure that all instruction and documentation comply with state and federal regulations regarding special education.
• Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and virtual instruction.
• Communication: Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and successes.

Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Certification: Pennsylvania teaching certification in Special Education is required.
• Experience: Prior experience teaching students with special needs, particularly in a virtual or remote setting, is preferred.
• Skills:
• Proficient in using virtual teaching platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.).
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Other Requirements:
• Clearances as required by Pennsylvania law (FBI, PA Criminal, Child Abuse).
• Reliable internet connection and appropriate home office setup for remote teaching.
