Position Summary/Job Duties:
I am looking for someone to help my 8th grader complete her homework assignments and turn them in on time. She has ADHD and a pending autism (high functioning) diagnosis. She is a smart kid but struggles to stay organized and complete her assignments. I am hoping to find someone who can help monitor what her assignments are, when they are due, and ensure they are completed and turned in. She lacks the ability to prioritize what needs to be done first, and wastes time when working on homework (e.g. spends a ridiculous amount of time searching for a graphic or deciding which font to use). She also struggles to focus, gets sidetracked, and gets frustrated and can’t move on if she gets stuck with one part of the assignment. Multi-step assignments are challenging as well.
Qualifications:
• Experience with middle school age kids
• Ability to be friendly and relatable, but also get the work done.
• Working toward a career in education or special education a plus
• Previous experience with kids with special needs a plus
