JWMI/Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to join our academics team. We are currently in search of a passionate professor for Economics for the upcoming Fall Quarter starting on 10/1/2024. This course will be online in an asynchronous format.
JWMI/Strayer Adjunct Faculty are not just instructors; they are also coaches and mentors. Qualifications
• 7-10 years of management experience required, preferably with supervisory and P&L responsibilities in the field of Finance.
• A deep understanding and appreciation for Jack Welch’s management philosophy
• The ability to both coach and instruct adult learners in an online environment
• Experience with the adoption of new technology and tools
• The ability to do occasional synchronous work with students
• Commitment to student success
• Maintain smooth course operation and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Attend faculty meetings and discipline workshops as required.
Essential Duties:
• Actively participate in weekly online discussions
• Evaluate and provide feedback on student coursework
• Assist with the development and refinement of the curriculum
• Create short videos to introduce new topics each week
• Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Maintain adequate records of student progress
• Maintain smooth course operation and adherence to policies and procedures
Skills:
• Teaching experience at the college level
• Demonstrated mastery of academic administration
• Demonstrated mastery of academic technology
• Demonstrated mastery of academic evaluation
• Mastery of oral presentation skills, planning, and organizing of course objectives
• Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable)
Education:
• All degrees must be conferred and from an accredited institution to be considered
• A terminal degree Doctorate Degree in Finance or working towards your terminal degree (ABD) is preferred
• A Master’s degree in Finance field is required or a related field
• Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable)
• CPA or CMA a plus
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
• CFA, CAIA, or CMA a plus
Other:
• Some travel may be required for faculty meetings
• Must be able to lift 2 lbs.
• Experience with Canvas or a similar LMS (Learning Management system) is preferred

The Jack Welch Management Institute at Strayer University delivers an integrated 12-course MBA for working managers, along with non-degree six-week Certificates in Leadership and Strategy. The Jack Welch Management Institute online MBA is designed to be completed in 18-24 months while working full-time.

• Adjunct Faculty in the Jack Welch Management Institute (JWMI) at Strayer University are compensated based on the number and type of courses that are taught in a given quarter. All newly hired Adjunct Faculty at JWMI start at the Assistant Professor level and are required to successfully complete a paid intensive training program compensated at $1,000. If a JWMI Assistant Professor is promoted to a JWMI Associate Professor, current compensation is approximately $3,600 per course.
