Adjunct Faculty – IDESN 3510-80 Visual Communication 1, online, asynchronous, Fall Term 2

The Opportunity

Lesley University’s Department of Design is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach the following course:

DESN 3510-80 Visual Communication 1, online, asynchronous, Fall Term 2

This process-based course explores methods to both stimulate the imagination and capture fleeting ideas. Emphasis is put on the sketching process as a means of exploration and visual communication. Students “learn by doing” through a series of conceptual projects and problem-solving exercises. All projects begin with intensive sketching on paper as part of the design process. Students will learn how to employ various conceptual and creative tactics in the making of visual design imagery.

Qualities and Capabilities

A successful candidate will have:
• MFA, MDES, MS in User Experience Design, Interactive Design, or related field (preferred)
• 1-2+ years of teaching experience in design (or related field) at the college level OR 2+ years of professional experience working in the… design field within a UX or Interactive design practice
• Experience teaching design or related courses within a Visual Arts program (preferred)
• Portfolio examples of their own work and/or student work in a combined PDF that is no larger than 5mg
• Cover letter indicating how your skills/experience align with the job qualifications above
