The… Department of Computational, Engineering, and Mathematical Sciences is seeking a non-tenure track adjunct faculty in mathematics. Responsibilities may include teaching any of these undergraduate courses in mathematics – Calculus I and II, Calculus I and II Labs, Precalculus, College Algebra, College Algebra Recitation, Contemporary Mathematics I, Introductory Statistics, and other mathematics courses as needed. The adjunct faculty will prepare and teach the assigned course/s following a syllabus guideline in face to face, online, or hybrid formats as assigned by the department. The faculty will maintain appropriate course related records on Blackboard (our Learning Management System), assign earned grades, report needed course related data to the department, and communicate with the departmental faculty and staff on course related issues as needed. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, or online classes. Required Education and Experience: An earned Master’s degree in Mathematics or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution. 18 graduate hours in Mathematics. Experience and interest in teaching undergraduates in a college/university setting. Prior college mathematics teaching experience and experience with Blackboard, our Learning Management System. Preferred Education and Experience: Working towards (ABD) or has earned Ph.D. in Mathematics, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution. Broad training in mathematics. Excellent (1) oral and written communication skills and (2) presentation skills. Interest in active and collaborative learning, and the use of instructional technology for face to face and online courses. Experience with Blackboard, our Learning Management System. Experience with non-traditional commuter university setting. Experience with a culturally diverse student body.
