Job Description
A part-time adjunct instructor is needed for teaching college-level Communication courses for fall 2024. Courses may include Fundamentals of Public Speaking, or other elective classes in Communication. Classes will be taught face-to-face or online.
Required Education and Experience:
• A Master’s in communication or a closely related discipline.
• Prior teaching experience in a university setting is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
• Ability to work cooperatively with faculty and staff, ability to respond promptly to queries from students, faculty, and staff.
• Interest in active and collaborative learning, the instructional use of technology, and hybrid and online teaching.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.

The letters of recommendation should be written on letterhead, be less than one year old, and must bear the writer’s actual signature. The letters of recommendation can be submitted electronically by the writer as a PDF attachment with the subject heading “Communication- Letter of Recommendation – Applicant Name” to the Search Committee chair, Dr. Joseph Simpson at

If selected for the position, prior to issuing a letter of appointment, the official transcripts must be received directly from each degree-granting institution. We cannot accept transcripts issued directly to the candidate. If transcripts are from an international institution, it is the responsibility of the prospective candidate to have the transcript translated, evaluated and notarized.
