Job Description:

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced and compassionate Special Education Teachers for a full-time role within school districts in the Brooklyn, NY area. We are seeking candidates who are committed to providing high-quality education and individualized support to students with special needs, enabling them to achieve their full potential in an inclusive and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of each student.
• Adapt and modify curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate a variety of learning styles and abilities.
• Provide specialized instruction in both inclusive and self-contained classroom settings, focusing on the goals outlined in each student’s IEP.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, school administrators, and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support for students.
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress, using data to refine instructional strategies and update IEPs as necessary.
• Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians, involving them in the educational process and keeping them informed of their child’s progress.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local special education regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid New York State teaching certification in Special Education (or eligibility to obtain certification).
• Strong understanding of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and other relevant state and federal regulations.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
