Key Responsibilities
Teach college-level courses in Teacher Education, including Alternative Licensure, Early Childhood Education, and Elementary/Secondary Education.
Develop and update instructional materials to ensure they are current and effective.
Present course material in a clear and organized manner.
Evaluate and assess student learning and maintain accurate records.
Teach courses during day, evening, weekend, and online sessions as needed.
Hold a minimum of 1 office hour per week for each assigned course.
Participate in professional development activities for adjunct faculty.

Qualifications
An active teaching license from the New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED).
A master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in relevant fields such as Teacher Education, Gifted Education, Special Education, Reading, or TESOL from an accredited institution.
Prior Teaching Experience Is Highly Preferred.
Experience with face-to-face, hybrid, and online teaching methods, and proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) and technology-enhanced curriculum.
Access to reliable internet, a personal computer, and telephone.
A demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and use multiple technology platforms to effectively communicate with students.
Remote Work
This position may be eligible for remote or hybrid work within New Mexico and certain approved states. All remote work arrangements must be approved in advance by the Dean and Human Resources.
Remote work is not permitted for locations outside the United States.
Compensation And Benefits
Adjunct faculty are compensated on a per-credit hour or hourly basis, with a rate of $778 per credit hour.
Payment is made twice a month, on the 15th and the last working day of the month.
Adjunct faculty teaching at least one credit class are eligible for a tuition waiver benefit, which may be transferred to a qualified family member.
