BSW Program-Assistant/ Associate Professor (Tenue-Track)

Job Summary

Faculty member will demonstrate excellence in teaching and a strong commitment to undergraduate education. The role of the Assistant/Associate Professor requires collegium, technical savviness, and creativity for sustaining the program. A history of academic instruction and familiarity to CSWE accreditation experience are preferred. The faculty member will teach residential (seated… courses in Social Work and/or distance learning courses, which may include practice, elective, or practicum courses dependent on the areas of expertise of the faculty member and needs of the department.

Essential Job Duties

This full-time (10-month) position requires teaching 12/13 credits each semester; managing curriculum, assessments, recruitment and retention; advising BSW students; engaging in scholarship; service to the department, college, university, profession, and community; serve as faculty advisor to social work student associations, research, and overall support of the BSW program. The BSW program accreditation was reaffirmed by CSWE in 2018 with its next reaffirmation due in 2026.
• Teach courses in Social Work as assigned.
• Serve as the academic advisor to BSW students.
• Engage in scholarly activity.
• Manage curriculum in collaboration with other faculty in the department.
• Attend to student recruitment and retention.
• Maintain the quality of the program in accordance with CSWE accreditation standards.
• Provide service to the department, college, and institution.

Preferred Qualifications
• Candidates must have an earned MSW degree from a CSWE accredited MSW program or an earned doctorate in Social Work or related field. (license in LMSW, LCSW or LICSW is preferred)
• at least two years or more of higher education teaching experience
• five years or more of post-MSW practice experience (direct or community practice).
