Under the direction of the Extended Care Director, the Extended Care Teacher’s Assistant is responsible for assisting in daily scheduled activities. This includes but is not limited to helping students with homework, and participating in appropriate activities, and games. The Teacher’s Assistant is also to engage in insightful conversations prompted by educational and inspirational video… programming.
Essential Duties
Assist the Teacher in providing students with appropriate leadership during the program.
Prepare snacks and supplies for the students.
Assist the Teacher in implementing activities that incorporate program goals.
Provide a safe, caring, Christ-like atmosphere for students.
Maintain open communication with staff and school personnel.
Attend staff meetings.
Maintain a positive attitude towards staff, students, and the school.
Report any problems which arise with students, other employees, or the school to the Director.
Keep the assigned space used sanitized, neat and orderly.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Experience
The Extended Care Teacher’s Assistant must provide the students with a leadership role and be a positive role model themselves.
Must be at least 16 years of age.
Previous Experience Working With Elementary-aged Children Is Preferred.
Be a self-starter able to work with little supervision.
Must be able to follow written and verbal directions.
Must have integrity and the ability to exercise good judgment.
Must dress appropriately and in a professional manner consistent with our school dress code.
Ideal job for retirees, college students, remote workers, etc.
Available Hours
Split Shifts:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 2:50 pm – 6:00 pm (guaranteed 1.5 hours*)
Wednesdays: 2:05 pm – 6:00 pm (guaranteed 2 hours*)
Half Days (M-F): 11:50 am – 6:00 pm (guaranteed 4 hours*)
• Hours worked are determined by the number of Extended Care students every day and throughout the shift.
Physical Requirements
Ability to engage in physical play with students.
Ability to lift 20 lbs.
Ability to stand and walk frequently during shift.
Understand the speech of another person.
Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
Travel Requirements
None.

Work is performed at the school.
