The basics of this position:
This is a temporary faculty appointment in the Sciences division
for the 2024-25 academic year (Fall 2024 and Spring 2025). The
successful candidate will teach a minimum of 15 credit hours per
semester of college-level biology courses to diverse students using
various teaching modalities (online, face-to-face, hybrid).
Teaching Responsibilities:
Two off-campus dual enrollment courses:
BIO 111: Lecture on Mondays, 2:00-4:40 PM at the dual enrollment
(off-campus) location; Lab on Saturdays, 10:00-11:50 AM at Forest
Park campus.
BIO 109 (Fall) / Bio 117 (Spring): Flexible hours, but tentatively:
MW 7:44-9:14 AM, 9:18-10:48 AM, 11:21 AM-12:51 PM, or 12:55-2:25
PM. This course will be taught entirely offsite at our DE
location.
Remaining courses most likely will be taught on the Forest Park
campus; however, the Flo Valley or Meramec may be assigned as a
teaching location based on need.
What you’ll do:
• Full Time faculty duties and responsibilities normally
include:
Formal course contact teaching of 15 credit hours of Biology
lecture and lab courses;
face to face, hybrid, and dual enrollment courses,
Preparation and planning for instructing assigned classes in
accordance with course objectives.
Preparing and correcting examinations and other student work
assignments.
Scheduling student conferences to review individual student
progress.
Attendance at faculty meetings and institutional ceremonies or
meetings.
The College reserves the right to assign other normal professional
responsibilities as may be appropriate.
Education, experience, and other requirements:
A Master’s degree in Biology or a Master’s degree in a related
field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Biology.
Preferred Qualifications:
Secondary education or community college teaching experience with
graduate courses in education and biology. Experience with
different modalities of biology education. Experience working with
high school students. Experience teaching Non-STEM biology and
Anatomy and Physiology.
