Lead Educator – Remote | WFH

Position Summary

We are excited to invite applications for the role of Lead Educator to join our School and Community Programs team! In this engaging position, you’ll be instrumental in facilitating and enhancing play-based learning programs, both at our site and in various school and community settings. As a Lead Educator, you’ll play a pivotal role in guiding and energizing playful learning… experiences, with a particular focus on school and community programs. Occasionally, you’ll also contribute to exhibits, festivals, camps, and general visitor experiences.

We are looking for a passionate individual committed to nurturing playful learning experiences that help young children and their families flourish. Your goal will be to provide exceptional, memorable experiences for all children, teachers, and caregivers involved in our programs. This role requires a love for children’s education, an outgoing and enthusiastic demeanor, and outstanding communication and customer service skills.

Salary and Work Details

Hourly Rate: $26.32 per hour (Bilingual candidates fluent in English and Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese will earn $27.32 per hour).

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of one remote day per week based on programming needs.

Location: Our beautiful 7.5-acre campus in Sausalito, CA.

Public Interaction: Approximately 80% of your time will be spent interacting with the public.

Vaccination Requirement: Proof of up-to-date COVID vaccination is required.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitating Playful Learning And Engagement

Lead and inspire onsite and offsite school and community programs, ensuring learning outcomes are achieved.

Engage teachers and parents in the program, and collaborate with educators and group leaders.

Model best practices in early childhood playful learning and adapt programs to meet specific needs.

Oversee other educators, participate in program evaluation, and contribute to special events and seasonal programs.

If bilingual, facilitate programs in Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese, including translating materials.

Customer Service

Deliver exceptional service to ensure every visitor and participant has a positive and inclusive experience.

Communicate and enforce safety and behavioral policies.

Program Support And Administration

Assist with setup, cleanup, and materials management.

Contribute to program development, planning, and evaluation.

Conduct training for other staff and handle administrative tasks such as data collection and organizing supplies.

Support day-to-day operations, including driving the mobile engineering lab and ensuring spaces are clean and appealing.

Skills And Qualifications

Experience: At least 3 years working with children ages 0-8 in educational settings. Background in education, arts education, early childhood education, or a related field preferred.

Knowledge: Understanding of early childhood development and developmentally appropriate practices.

Language Skills: Ability to speak Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese is a plus.

Skills: Excellent customer service, initiative, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical activities like bending, kneeling, walking, and carrying items up to 50 lbs. Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Additional: Valid driver’s license, clear Motor Vehicle Record, personal car insurance, and reliable access to a car.
