Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and highly motivated Mandarin Teacher to work one-on-one with an elementary student, focusing on language and culture. This position is primarily in-person, with a potential for remote work in the future.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the team to develop effective teaching strategies.
Curate engaging, student-led curriculum tailored to the student’s needs.
Foster a positive and engaging learning environment.
Create lesson plans and instructional materials.
Integrate hands-on, project-based learning activities to bring topics to life.
Utilize a variety of educational techniques to meet the student’s needs.
Conduct informal and formal assessments to monitor and adjust teaching methods.
Provide weekly updates on student progress.
Help the student build social and emotional competencies, self-esteem, and confidence.
Collaborate with other educators and team members.

Required Skills
Strong knowledge of Mandarin language and culture.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students.
Familiarity with best practices and technology tools.
Patience and understanding when working with students who may be struggling.
Strong organizational skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum of 4 years of experience as a classroom teacher or private Mandarin tutor.
Teaching Credential (preferred But Not Required).
Must reside in the Atherton, CA area.

Pay: $85.00 per hour + paid prep time
