• *Job Description:**
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Math Tutor to join our team as an independent contractor. This role involves tutoring middle and high school students in a variety of math subjects, (experience in tutoring Algebra 2 through Calculus is a must). The ideal candidate is engaging, personable, responsible, and professional, with a strong track record of academic excellence in math.
• *Responsibilities:**
– Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to middle and high school students in math subjects, including but not limited to Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus. Middle and High school science class experience is a bonus.
– Assess students’ strengths and weaknesses, and develop tailored tutoring plans to meet their needs.
– Utilize a variety of teaching techniques to ensure students understand complex math concepts.
– Track and report students’ progress to parents and us (through session logs).
– Be punctual, professional, and prepared for each tutoring session.
– Engage students in a positive and supportive manner, encouraging their confidence in math (or whatever subject you are tutoring).
• *Qualifications:**
– Proven experience in tutoring middle and high school math subjects, particularly Algebra 2 through AP Calculus.
– A minimum grade of A in any math subject you will be tutoring.
– A score of 4 or 5 on the AP exam for any AP math course you wish to tutor.
– Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain math concepts in an understandable and engaging way.
– Experience with virtual tutoring is a plus, but not required.
– Must be responsible, punctual, and able to work independently.
– Ability to build rapport with students and create a positive learning environment.
• *Preferred Qualifications:**
– Experience tutoring science subjects is a plus, but not required.
– A degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field is preferred but not required
-Experience with virtual tutoring through zoom is a plus, but not required.
