Position Overview
We are looking for a passionate and experienced High School Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) education to join our remote teaching team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering comprehensive instruction across multiple subjects, helping DHH high school students thrive academically and prepare for their future careers and college… opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Teach a variety of high school subjects, including English, Social Studies, and electives.
Develop and deliver engaging online lessons using American Sign Language (ASL) and written English.
Prepare students for standardized tests and college entrance exams.
Integrate transition planning and life skills into the curriculum to support students’ future success.
Collaborate with subject area specialists to maintain high academic standards.
Provide guidance on post-secondary education and career pathways.
Encourage students in developing self-advocacy skills and a strong Deaf identity.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Valid teaching license with an endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education.
Additional certifications in subject areas such as English or Social Studies are a plus.
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
At least 5 years of experience teaching DHH high school students.
Strong understanding of college and career readiness standards.
Familiarity with assistive technologies and accommodations for DHH students.
