We are seeking an enthusiastic, engaging, and reliable music teacher to instruct one or multiple weekly one-hour music classes for 3rd to 8th grade level students (native or near-native speakers) located abroad. This position focuses on creating a stimulating classroom environment that educates students on fundamental music theory concepts such as rhythm, melody, pitch, and tempo. Additionally… the role aims to foster an appreciation for music in its historical context, while providing insights into various styles, techniques, and genres.
Responsibilities
Develop engaging lesson plans, curricula, and supplementary resources that challenge and guide students.
Provide personalized online instruction to meet the diverse needs of students through individualized and small group settings.
Encourage independent thinking and original expression among students.
Design relevant assignments that align with instructional goals.
Assess each student’s proficiency level and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
Evaluate student progress in relation to course standards.
Maintain regular communication with counselors regarding student development.
Prepare report cards and maintain accurate records of student performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a music-related field.
State board teaching certification or professional license with appropriate endorsement.
Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in relevant educational settings.
Proficiency in developing music curricula and creating effective lesson plans.
Comfortable working with students of varying skill levels.
Dynamic, articulate, patient, reliable, and fun-loving demeanor, coupled with a high level of professionalism.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Familiarity with current online teaching technologies.
Compensation
Competitive pay based on experience.
Work Schedule
Classes typically scheduled between 6:00am-9:00am or 9:00pm-11:00pm US Eastern Time, Monday to Friday, with potential weekend sessions (morning or evening).
