• The candidate will be tutoring high school students in all areas of the SAT and/or ACT, helping them learn all necessary academic concepts and general test taking strategies.

• Not all students learn the same way or have the same academic/emotional strengths. Our ideal candidate is an experienced tutor and/or teacher… who is patient, empathetic, and can adjust to multiple learning styles and personalities.

Requirements
• Understanding, empathetic, and accepting towards all individuals. Does not discriminate on the basis of academic ability, race, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, citizenship, or national origin.
• Minimum 1400 SAT score or 31 ACT score.
• Effectively and comprehensively deliver ACT/SAT tutoring (must be able to teach all sections of the test).
• College graduate, graduate student, upper-division undergraduate student, or working professionals only.
• Available up to 10 hours per week.
• Must be engaging, enthusiastic, and outgoing. The SAT/ACT is already boring enough.
• Ability to build rapport with students. Get to know them so they look forward to their tutoring sessions!
• Strong ability to effectively teach math concepts from middle school to pre-calculus.
• Ability to effectively conduct virtual tutoring sessions with your own technology
• Previous experience in teaching/tutoring.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Act professionally through all forms of communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
• Facilitate tutoring sessions on a weekly basis.
• Work with students to identify areas of weakness, close learning gaps, and enhance understanding in subject areas.
• Provide additional practice work to ensure a thorough understanding of topics covered.
• Assist students with developing foundational skills, study/organizational skills, and homework.
• Maintain a session report for our office and families after each tutoring session.
• Maintain consistent communication with students/parents through phone calls, text messages, or emails regarding homework, score improvement, and overall progress.
Payment:
• $25-$35/hr based on prior education and professional experience

Anticipated Number of Students:
• Maximum of 5 total students at a time.
• Each student receives approximately 2 hrs of tutoring per week.
• Each tutoring session ranges from 60-90 minutes
