Associate Professor in International Business (with a preference
for Assistant professor).

College

The Alvarez College of Business is UTSA’s second-largest college
and is home to more than 7,900 undergraduate and graduate students
in 29-degree programs, supported by 205 tenure/tenure-track and
fixed-term faculty and a dedicated cadre of staff. Each of the
ACOB’s seven departments brings unique value for advancing its
mission—these include the Departments of Accounting, Economics,
Finance, Information Systems & Cybersecurity, Management,
Management Science & Statistics, and Marketing. The College is

Department

The Management department is composed of 34 faculty members,
including 18 tenured/tenure-track faculty members known for their
research expertise in the areas of international business,
organizational behavior, organizational theory, strategy,
entrepreneurship, and health care management. The department has a
strong research focus and offers a supportive environment for
faculty to publish in the top academic journals in their
fields.

The department offers undergraduate degrees in management and human
resources management and a doctoral degree in management and
organization studies. Tenured research active faculty generally
have a 2/2 teaching load. Untenured, tenure-track faculty teach
three courses per year.

Position Summary

The Department of Management at the Alvarez College of Business at
the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is accepting
applications for a faculty position as an Assistant or Associate
Professor in International Business (with a preference for
Assistant professor).

It is expected this position will support offering new
opportunities to Management students, specifically in the area of
International Business. The ideal candidate will have a record that
demonstrates excellent teaching experience in International
Business and general marketing classes at the undergraduate and
graduate levels. The position will also help cover other management
courses as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: (1) Ph.D. in International Business,
Strategy, Management, or a related discipline (e.g., Psychology,
Sociology, Economics); new PhDs (with an expected Ph.D. completion
by August 2025) are eligible to apply. (2) Demonstrated excellence
in publishing high-quality scholarly research or evidence of strong
research potential; (3) Evidence of effective teaching (or
potential for effective teaching) at the undergraduate and graduate
levels; (4) strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: (1) Research interests focusing on
international business activities and practices oriented toward
Latin America regions; (2) interest in mentoring and developing
doctoral students.

For candidates at the level of Associate Professor tenure is
contingent upon Board of Regents approval.

Salary

Salary and supporting start-up package are competitive and
commensurate with qualifications and experience. UTSA offers and
attractive package of benefits, including medical and dental

System or an Optional Retirement System.
