**Overview:** Savannah Technical College is seeking a part-time/adjunct Political Science Instructor to teach Political Science courses. The successful candidate will report to the Social and Behavioral Science Department Head in the General Studies Division and will be responsible for teaching Political Science courses at various campus locations. **Responsibilities:**
• Prepare lesson plans for… classroom instruction
• Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives
• Assess Political Science students’ learning objectives
• Maintain program certification requirements, as appropriate
• Prepare, maintain, and submit all required documentation and administrative reports in a timely manner
• Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by completing staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferences
• Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the classroom area
• Meet with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of students
• *Qualifications:**
• Master’s degree in Political Science; or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours of Political Science courses from an accredited college or university
• Excellent leadership, human-relations, interpersonal skills, and strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated skills in usage of Microsoft Office Suite
• Preference will be given to those candidates who have taught both online and on campus for at least one year at an accredited college/university, possess working knowledge of Blackboard (course management) and Banner (student information), or similar platforms, and active participation in appropriate professional/occupational organizations
