Job Description: We are looking for a compassionate and skilled School-Based Special Education Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to students in Saginaw, MI. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of individualized education and be capable of working collaboratively with school staff and families to promote student success.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
• Provide individualized and group instruction to students with disabilities in various settings.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and parents to ensure the needs of special education students are met.
• Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to achieve IEP goals.
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development sessions, and other school activities.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, IEP compliance, and other relevant documentation.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Valid Michigan teaching certificate with an endorsement in Special Education.
• A minimum of one year of experience working in a school-based special education setting.
• Strong knowledge of Michigan special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
